Massage FAQ

  • The first massage is really us getting to know each other. I do ask first time clients to arrive 10 minutes early on the first session. You are asked to complete your intake form when you book so that we have more time to discuss what you want to get out of the massage. Your intake form is confidential and HIPPA compliant. I will discuss the oils that I use and you have the choice to use cannabis based products or just regular massage products. Bear in mind that cannabis based products are for 21 and older only, I will ask to see your ID, no matter your age or appearance. It’s not that I love to do that, it is because I adhere to all laws set by the state of CO

  • I’m so happy to announce that I am now taking insurance for massage. I take most private insurances. There are three simple steps to process insurance and you can find them by clicking here.

  • I use stripe to process payments at the end of your service. You can use any major credit card or pay cash.

  • There is, I love what I do and I’m blessed to be able to make my living doing what I love. I wish my bills took love, but they do not. When I close spots for clients it prevents me from taking another client. Canceling within 24 hours prevents me from booking a spot, so I am upfront that if cancelations occur within 24 hours there will be a charge.

  • A tip is always appreciated but it isn’t needed. There are some places that will add a tip but I don’t operate that way. I like my clients to see my price and pay that price. If you are financially in a place where you want to tip then you go right ahead, it will be a welcome surprise, but not an expectation.

  • I want you to relax in the space, but I also want the space to be relaxing for others. I do ask that clients keep their voices low, their phones on silent (not vibrate, but silent). You are welcome to have your phone out, or even watch a video, just be sure to bring your ear buds.

  • New clients should arrive 10 minutes prior to their session. Returning clients should arrive 5 minutes prior to their session.

  • Yes, you can! Since I’m the only massage therapist you and your guest will be staggered so you’re massaged back to back. There is a relaxing waiting room where you can rest between the massages.

  • Not at this time, that will be for the next evolution of my practice. Timing is slightly key because of the space. I currently have a studio, so if you arrive 20 minutes early you will be waiting outside the building.

  • This does happen and I can’t say that I will always be able to give you the time back. I book my services with enough time to clean the room and decompress. You wouldn’t want me entering your session frazzled because my last client was late. So if I can give you time back I will, but don’t expect it, if anything you should expect for your service to end on the end time.

  • This is NOT a one size fits all answer. As a massage therapist I work where your body lets me. This might mean something lighter, something deeper, or somewhere in the middle. Yes, deep tissue is great and be very beneficial, but your body has no idea that I’m helping, it just feels someone digging into them. This can lead to your body tightening and make you sore for no reason. This is why all my primary modalities are the same price, so that you can get the experience you want. I will talk with you and make my recommendations based on your concerns/goals, your past experience with bodywork and various other factors. Ultimately, this is YOUR session, talk with me about what you are feeling.

  • That is totally your decision. I use sheets to cover and uncover you as I’m working, but your genitals and breasts will be covered, so you will NEVER be fully exposed on the table. Less clothing does allow me to work deeper in the body, but at the same time, if getting undressed causes you stress then our work is for nothing. I want you to undress to YOUR comfort level. I’ve had clients wear nothing, underwear only, I’ve even had people wear a one-piece bathing suit, I can work around anything, I just want you to feel comfortable.

  • That is a personal choice. Some of my clients actually find it very relaxing to talk during their massage, others just want to relax and not feel pressured to make conversation. This is all about you. I will check in with you about pressure and how things are feeling, but I only talk to you when you talk to me. I’ll take your lead.

  • Just relax. The above question addresses the talking topic, but beyond that you should be relaxing. Breathing is crucial. Slow deep breaths will help with relaxation as well and help you if you are getting deeper work.

I’ve done this for years and years and I’ve seen many reactions to massage. Some people have had emotional releases and cried on the table, some people fall asleep, some people pass gas, or even laugh. There isn’t a right way to do this, it is a personal experience. If you want the music louder, lower, a new station, more or less pressure, etc. all you have to do is talk to me.

  • This is always a possibility. When we do bodywork things get worked out and this can leave the body feeling sore. This is why we work up to deeper work. Doing things like stretching after, hot baths and drinking water will help your recovery.

  • There isn’t a hard and fast rule on this, sometimes a client might need something more intensive and more often is recommended. For most people once a month is a great place to start. We can always talk and evaluate.

  • I do, currently I reserve Thursday as my late day and offer Saturday sessions. If you prefer evenings be sure to book on a Thursday.

  • Not at all. Tantric massage and sexological bodywork are great things, but these are NOT modalities that I offer. I only offer therapeutic massage.

  • In theory, yes, but it wouldn’t be with me. Sex coaching is very deep and intimate work, sometimes I refer clients to get a massage, but there is a danger for one person to be everything to you. Transference is a real thing, if you disclose personal information about your sexual concerns and then come back next week for a massage we can risk the line becoming blurred. That will cause any treatments with me to be unethical. Having said that, I know sex coaches in CO and all over the world, I also know many massage therapists in Denver. We can either put your massages on hold if you want coaching with me, or we can refer you out.

  • There are certainly times you shouldn’t get a massage. You should not book a massage if you have had (or recently had) a fever, cold/flu, or a skin infection.

Open wounds, infections and various other conditions can make massage a contraindication. Talk with your primary care provider first if you are having medical issues and make sure that massage is right for you. You should also know that I DO NOT do prenatal and postnatal massage. It is great work that has benefits but I’m not trained in that modality. I can give you a referral if you reach out.

  • I wish! This is one of those things that will change down the road. In the state of CO there are many regulations when it comes to selling cannabis products, and there should be. I’m not at a place where I can do all the nuances, so right now I do NOT sell my products.

  • No! If you have an allergy to my oil, then you shouldn’t use it. I use coconut oil because it is a great fat that can be infused with cannabis. I then add oils and other herbs to it. I will go over all the ingredients before we use it.

  • This is a really great question that should be asked. As a person who works with people I think it is important to be transparent about my practices. I have had my vaccination and boosters. After every client the room is cleaned and sanitized with fresh linens added to the bed. If wearing a mask is something that you feel good about then you should wear one. I don’t right now, however, if you would like me to all you have to do is ask.

  • These days, huh? If it’s not COVID it’s something else to worry about. This is a great reason to avoid bodywork if you have a rash or broken skin, fever or pain that can’t explain. Do not book a massage if you have any of these symptoms. Go to see your doctor instead, I’m not going anywhere and I’ll be here when you’re better. I stay up to date on my vaccinations and I’m vaccinated for monkeypox.

  • Why yes, it is! I offer established clients a cannabis coaching consultation. During this 30 minute session we discuss chemovars that might benefit you, discuss stretching and anything else we can fit into 30 minutes to keep you feeling good. A free cannabis oil is given to you at the end of our session, provided you live in CO.

  • I wish all insurances covered massage. Since they don’t, I make it a point to offer discounted rates for those who can’t use insurance.
